WHAT GOD HATH PROMISED
God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe;
He hath not told us we shall not bear
many a burden, many a care.
God hath not promised smooth roads and wide,
Swift, easy travel, needing no guide;
Never a mountain rocky and steep,
Never a river turbid and deep
But God hath promised strength for the day,
Rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love

Hello!
For a long time, I have been a creator, but I have not had the time (nor desire!) to share with the world. So this is a new venture for me. There are many labels I could give my self, I am not sure that I wish to do so.
I am a mother of two little ones. A teacher and artist. Until recently I felt I had it all together. In July 2019, my world fell apart. My beloved husband, Carlos, died in a car accident.
I became a widow and a single mom to two children under 6.
I have had to reconfigure my whole life. In many ways, this site is a memorial to what once was and a look forward to what could be.
This site is a collection of thoughts, prayers, artwork, and the occasional school assignment. If you visit, leave me a line. If it’s not your cup of tea that’s cool as well. Laris Cathedra, in Latin, loosely translated means ancestral seat, or in more fantasy-novel fashion “Seat of the Home God.” I figured it was a website name that no one else would want, but it would be a bit memorable.
Take care of yourself (no one else will do it).
XOXO,
Marianne
